Honey Apple Pork Chops

Allrecipes' cozy fall dinner -- thick pork chops seared golden then simmered with honey, apple wedges, and garlic until tender, finished with fresh sage. A 35-minute one-pan meal the whole family loves.

Ingredients

  • 4 (1-inch thick) boneless or bone-in pork chops
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 apples, cored and cut into wedges
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh sage leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels, then sprinkle both sides with the salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chops and brown well, about 5 minutes per side.
  4. Stir in the honey, apple wedges, and garlic; cover and simmer until the pork is tender, about 8 minutes.
  5. An instant-read thermometer inserted in the center should read at least 145F.
  6. Serve the chops topped with the apples and pan juices, garnished with sage leaves.
🍸 Suggested Cocktail Pairing
🍸
Hotel Nacional
🍹 Rum

Rum's sweetness and bourbon's warmth both complement the rich, savory character of pork.

A Cuban classic from Havana's Hotel Nacional — rum, pineapple, apricot liqueur and lime shaken into a tropical daiquiri-style sip.
