Army & Navy

A gin sour variation from David Embury's 1948 classic — gin, lemon, almond orgeat, and Angostura bitters. Nutty, bright, and beautifully balanced.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz London dry gin
  • ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
  • ½ oz orgeat syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 grapefruit twist, for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. 2. Shake vigorously until well-chilled.
  3. 3. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.
  4. 4. Express a grapefruit twist over the drink and garnish.
