A Canadian classic — rye whiskey, Fernet-Branca, simple syrup, and bitters. A riff on the Old Fashioned with the minty, bitter Fernet as the modifier. Strong, bitter, and sophisticated.

Ingredients
- 2 oz rye whiskey (or Canadian whisky)
- 1/4 oz Fernet-Branca
- 1/4 oz simple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Orange peel for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice.
- 2. Stir for 20 seconds until well-chilled.
- 3. Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- 4. Express orange peel oils over the drink and add as garnish.
