Ingredients
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp salt
2 large eggs, room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups canned pumpkin puree
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tbsp whole milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tbsp Dutch-process cocoa powder
1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and salt. In a medium bowl, whisk eggs, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined. Whisk in pumpkin, oil, milk, and vanilla. Pour wet ingredients into dry and whisk until combined.
Transfer about 1 cup of batter to a separate bowl. Stir in cocoa powder and mini chocolate chips to make the chocolate batter.
Spread a thin layer of pumpkin batter in the loaf pan. Alternate spoonfuls of chocolate and pumpkin batter until all batter is used. Use a knife to make zigzag swirls through the batter.
Bake for 60-70 minutes, tenting with foil halfway through, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
